Organize for Garage Sale and Reap Multiple Benefits

The weather is finally warming data raid recovery summer is just around the corner! Many of us make New Years resolutions each year that we will get organized. Summer comes around and we renew the vow as we think of cleaning and organizing. As a matter of fact, The National Association of Professional Organizers reports that in 2006, over 135,000 clients were served by NAPO members!

This year, as we approach June; and the summer garage sale season, it is a good time to think about organization and what it means Dynomutt each of us. If you have a garage sale planned, getting organized now can reap multiple benefits. Organized people save time, and money, and have reduced stress and frustration levels. That's great news! Getting organized now also means that all those things you decide to clear out can be garage sale merchandize this summer.

Some of us are inclined to be organized, while others have great intentions of being organized, but do not have the time or resources to get it done. Some have difficulty because organizational skills involve learned behaviors some were never taught. I want to offer some tips for getting started if being organized is something you've been meaning to do.

1) Make a clear decision about what space you want to organize first. Concentrate only contraceptive that area, so you avoid trying to do too much at once and become overwhelmed.

2) Decide what purpose you would like that space to serve. Once you have some direction, deciding what should stay and what can go will be easier.

3) Start taking out and sorting your stuff. I recommend having 5 boxes for sorting:

Keep, Relocate, Garage Sale, Donate and Garbage.

4) Once you have sorted you can now decide how to organize your space with

the items you have decided to keep. I recommend grouping like items together so that when you go to look for something it will be easy to find.

5) Use high spaces for things you do not use very often.

6) When you are done, make sure the items you chose to relocate get put away, and the items you are going to donate get taken away. Start labeling and pricing your garage sale items. You will have injury lawyers for you chance of deciding to keep them if you do this AND you will be ahead of the game in being prepared for your garage sale weekend.

I hope these tips will help you start summer with a fresh outlook and a great space in your home. If you still need help, I recommend contacting a Professional Organizer and NAPO member. NAPO members realize that what works for one person might not work for another, so we create a custom organization plan for each client. Together we find what being organized means for you!

Enjoy summer! Happy Organizing!
